【人民公敌。现在进行式】是 “卜卜剧场” 第一部走向国际的作品。有剧评说,“欧洲古典造型配上东南亚热带乡村景色,不是颠覆,而是延伸”,我们带出的不只是一个故事、一个经典戏码,也不是刻意的加入‘本土化’ 元素来突出作品的地方性,我们在做的是打破历史、地域的局限,糅合不同时空的创意与文化元素展现出历史的、东西方文化的交错点,也就是当代人所处的一个境地 -- 特别是作为当代马来西亚人的处境。
改编自挪威剧作家 “写实主义之父” 易卜生的名作,【人民公敌。现在进行式】对当代时政以及活在其中的人的存在价值做出探讨与质问,超现实的戏剧手法在亚庇和吉隆坡演出获得很高的评价。短短一年内,作品继走出亚庇在西马演出后,将冲出国际到台湾演出第三个版本。
即使作品内无论是隐喻的、明示的都在在表现了马来西亚人的困境,它并不是只给马来西亚人看的。就如我们在看别人的历史、别人的艺术、别人的各领域作品所获得的启发,我们的作品也需要被更多人看到,我们的声音也需要被更多人听到。【人。现】或许不是最好且完美的大马作品,但它是属于我们的作品,重点是,它不再留恋于歌颂我们土地的美、讲诉众所周知的道德价值,它更回归戏剧的本质 -- 说真话。
自揭疮疤是需要勇气的,因为那真的很疼痛。这是“卜卜剧场” 创团至今不变的创作路线。咬紧牙关,忍住痛,为的是呈现出更真实的美。而【人民公敌。现在进行式】是我们至今最成熟的结晶品。
【卜卜剧场】
卜卜剧场成立于2012年,是沙巴第一个专业剧团,以创作演出以及表演训练位主线,自创团以来每年至少办一次公演,演出剧目以原创以及改编经典为主。演员都是亚庇本土的业余演员,多是在卜卜剧场接受训练后参与剧团演出。剧团的演出作品着重马来西亚的本土元素,无论是题材还是手法都以本土元素作为创作基础。其中较鲜明的元素是语言 – 卜卜剧场的作品都以多语言呈现。
Adapted from Henrik Ibsen's classic play, 【An Enemy Of the People. At The Moment】criticises the overuse of power and the power of crowd, and questions the value of living in this time and space of world -- especially this very moment in Malaysian political atmostphere.

【EnemyPeople.Moment】 tells a realistic story through a surrealistic way. It achieved great success and received good reviews in the last performances in KK and KL.
This is the first time for PITaPAT to perform in international art festival. As a review said, “The combination of classical European costumes with tropical village scenery -- it is not a subversion, but an extension…”, we are not just telling a story, neither presenting the localized elements to project our identity. We are to break the boundaries of history and geography, combining multiple cultural, historical, and artistic elements to represent the situation we, Malaysians, are living in, which is also an intersection of East and West, culturally and historically.
Our arts works need to be seen and our voice need to be heard on the international stage. 【An Enemy Of The People. At the Moment】may not be the perfect work to represent Malaysia, but it is OUR work. More importantly, differ from those conventional theatre works that infatuate in praising the renowned beauty of our country and spreading the known moral value, we return to the origin of create theatre – reveal the truth.
One needs courage for self-revealing, because it can be painful. But this is what PITaPAT Theatre’s perspective in creating, in order to discover a more truthful beauty in theatre world. 【An Enemy Of The People. At the Moment】is one of the best revelation we have done throughout the years.
PITAPAT THEATRE
PITaPAT Theatre was formed in 2012 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Our aim is to undertake relevant, accessible and contemporary theatrical projects which explore the multicultural Malaysian community to increase consciousness of the social issues. Our main objective is to increase the participation of people from our multi-ethnic Malaysia in all aspects of professional theatrical training and intensive drama workshops.

这部戏自2015年创作至今已超过一年,演了两个版本,却似乎还存在着各种成长的可能性。难得的是,在沙巴剧场 -- 一般上演员都无法全职排演创作的情况下,演员依然愿意放下手上的事情,投入于戏的创作。
然而,除了创作以外,我们遇到的最大挑战是经费的短缺。虽然我们获得“大稻埕国际艺术节”提供部分演出场地以及住宿的赞助,但我们依然需要经费的赞助来完成此次的演出任务。这次演出版本的人事调动以及演出场地的不同而导致戏的服装、造型、布景道具等需要重新规划与制作,再加上演职员(约6人)的赴台机票以及在台演出的人事费,使我们还面临约RM15000的资金短缺。我们希望可以通过Mystartr这个集资平台,得到大家的帮助,以便让我们的作品、我们的声音在国外被看到、听到。
卜卜剧场的这个演出,是携带着重任的,我们希望可以把最好的带到国际舞台。你们一点一滴的资助,将凝聚成一艘铁船,护送卜卜剧场直到彼岸履行我们的重要任务。

This play has been created for more than a year and performed twice but it still has big potential to be further developed. Though in Sabah, most actors cannot commit to rehearsal and creation process completely, the creative team is still willing to sacrifice their other jobs to fulfill this mission.
However, beside the creative process, the biggest challenge of our tour in Taipei is the short of production costs. Though we are sponsored by TTTIFA in performance venue and accommodation, we are still short of budget for technical costs (costumes making, props and set building etc) and miscellanous costs such as air fare for the production team to travel to Taipei. Including those administration cost in Taiwan, we still need about RM15000 to make this happen.
We hope through the platform of Mystartr crowdfunding, we can gain your attention and supports so that we can bring our work, our voice onto the international stage.
